Redesigning ExpressCargo: A Visual Illustrative Journey
Budget: $30 – $250 NZD
We are redesigning our website and are looking to replace stock photography with a cohesive set of custom illustrations.
All illustrations should be simplified, vector‑style artwork (not photo‑realistic). The overall look should feel clean, modern, and consistent across the entire website.
Scope of Work
The full illustration set includes:
- 14 New Zealand landmark illustrations
(7 North Island and 7 South Island)
- 5 service illustrations representing Express Cargo’s core offerings
- 6 generic freight illustrations showing freight movement and process flows
These illustrations will replace generic stock images and will be used throughout the website as key visual elements.
Why illustrations (not stock photos)
Most transport and logistics websites rely heavily on generic stock photos, often showing branded trucks, ships, or aircraft. This doesn’t suit our business model.
Express Cargo is a 100% New Zealand–based freight broker. We do not own trucks, planes, or vessels — instead, we coordinate freight using a network of third‑party carriers. Because of this, we do not want imagery that promotes a branded fleet or suggests we operate our own vehicles.
Illustrations allow us to:
- Avoid misleading fleet imagery
- Clearly represent coordination, connectivity, and movement
- Create a more distinctive and modern website compared to competitors
If branding is used in any illustration, it should be Express Cargo branding only.
Reference
Please review our current website at expresscargo.co.nz to understand our business and existing content. Note that the website is also being redesigned, so illustrations will not necessarily sit in the same locations as current images — they need to be flexible and reusable across the site.
A detailed illustrator brief (including landmark descriptions, service scenes, and do/avoid guidance) will be provided to shortlisted freelancers.
