VB Modbus RS485 Optimization Analysis

With an aim to breathe new life into my Visual Basic (VB) program, integrating it with Modbus RS485, I am looking to employ the services of a seasoned professional with robust expertise.
I require thorough performance analysis and extensive code optimization. This includes an in-depth examination of the performance of my VB program, analyzing its efficiency, speeds, and over-all functionality before identifying areas of improvement.
In addition, the code optimization process should focus on improving the code structure, making it more streamlined, readable, and efficient.
The specialist I am seeking should also analyze the Modbus RS485 to PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) communication. The analysis should be focused on, but not limited to;
- Improving data accuracy and integrity,
- Identifying variables in the VB source code and inside the PLC set-up and their mutual interoperability.
Experience working with VB and knowledge of Modbus RS485 protocol will be particularly beneficial. Understanding industrial automation and PLC will also be a prerequisite for this task.

We may also want to rewrite this on another platform and use a Micro like Arduino or similar micro running a version of C or C++
