Business Analyst for Software Requirement

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with proven experience to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' full-time experience as a Business Analyst be responsible for creating comprehensive software requirement specifications, writing detailed user stories, managing tasks in JIRA, and facilitating the SCRUM process. This role is critical in ensuring that our software development projects meet business needs and deliver high-quality solutions.

You will be asked to answer the following questions if shortlisted:

Must be able to show and describe your experience with JIRA and how you've used it in past projects to manage tasks and track progress.
Must be able to walk us through a specific project where you created Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) and user stories.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements.
Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business needs.
Analyze and document business processes and workflows.

Software Requirement Specifications:

Create detailed Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) documents.
Ensure that requirements are clear, concise, and testable.
Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure requirements are understood.

User Stories and Use Cases:

Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
Develop use cases and user scenarios to describe system interactions.
Prioritize user stories in the product backlog.
JIRA Management:

Manage and maintain JIRA boards for project tracking.
Create and assign tasks, epics, and issues in JIRA.
Ensure that JIRA tasks are updated and reflect the current status.
Utilize JIRA dashboards and reports to provide insights on project progress and team performance.

SCRUM Facilitation:

Act as SCRUM master, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Ensure adherence to SCRUM principles and practices.
Monitor and report on team progress and performance.

Stakeholder Communication:

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including developers, testers, and business users.
Provide regular updates on project status and progress.
Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Implement best practices and methodologies for requirement management.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in software development projects.
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Proficiency in creating Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) and user stories.
Extensive experience with JIRA and other project management tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
SCRUM certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) is a plus.
