Digital Health Prototype Discovery

I am partnering with an academic medical centre to explore a new digital health research support tool. At this stage my priority is pure discovery: framing the challenge, understanding user needs, and shaping low- to mid-fidelity concepts that tell us whether the idea is both desirable and feasible.

User research is central. I need both user interviews and observations, conducted remotely, with researchers and study participants taking priority. Insights from these sessions should be synthesised into clear opportunity areas, personas, and early design concepts that we can iterate on quickly.

Everything—raw notes, synthesis, sketches, flows—must live in a shared Miro board (or a similar collaborative space) so the academic team and I can follow progress in real time. Figma or another rapid-prototyping tool is fine for clickable mock-ups, as long as links and iterations are documented in the same board.

Deliverables
• Miro board containing complete research artefacts, synthesis, and design documentation
• Defined personas and mapped opportunity areas
• Low- to mid-fidelity prototype concepts with at least one iteration round based on stakeholder feedback
• Concise summary report outlining key insights, recommendations, and next steps

The outcome I’m after is clarity: a well-framed problem, evidence-backed user insights, and tangible prototypes that show where the biggest opportunities lie—and where they don’t—before we ever think about production code.
