Restaurant In-House Android App
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
The goal is to build a lightweight Android application that runs only on our internal devices and streamlines the entire dine-in workflow for three roles—Server, Head Chef, and Owner.
Server workflow
• Select a table, enter the guest’s name and phone number, and add menu items.
• As soon as an order is placed, the kitchen tablet must show it instantly.
• When the kitchen marks an order “Completed,” the server’s device pops a notification so food can be served without delay.
• To close the ticket, the server records “Paid” and selects the payment mode; the app then auto-calculates the final amount from the stored item prices.
Head Chef workflow
• A clean dashboard lists all incoming orders in real time.
• Tapping an order lets the chef update its status (e.g., “In Progress,” “Completed”).
• Optional kitchen-side notifications can be toggled on/off to reduce screen checking during rushes.
Owner insights
• A summary screen displays total orders and sales with quick filters—Today, Last Week, This Month, or any custom date range.
• No edits from this screen, just fast, read-only reporting for decision-making.
General requirements
• Snappy, responsive UI; nothing flashy, just intuitive navigation and large touch targets for busy hands.
• Works offline on our local network and syncs instantly once connected.
• One APK that detects the logged-in role and shows only the relevant interface.
• Source code, clear build instructions, and a short user guide must be included.
Acceptance criteria
1. End-to-end order flow completes in under three taps per stage (place-update-close).
2. Role-based access prevents cross-role data leakage.
3. Sales figures for any date range match the manual register within ±0.5 %.
4. APK installs and runs on Android 8.0+; tablets and phones render equally well in portrait mode.
Hand-off deliverables
• Production-ready APK
• Full source code (Android Studio project)
• Read-me with setup and role creation steps
• One-page quick-start guide for staff training
That’s the entire scope—simple, fast, and built solely for smooth in-house operations.
