UX / UI Design for EdTech Business, Brillder.com - trial task for permanent, part-time appointment
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
TASK
We're a UK-based EdTech launching a regular weekly prize game. We need a new page design (adaptive for PC, Tablet and Mobile) which has four options. Our current prize page is daily and has two options (STEM and Humanities). The new design should feature the four categories: Maths, Science, Humanities and General & Topical. It needs to contain the key information on the current page which can be seen here: https://brillder.com/brilliant-minds-prizes/
IMPORTANT: WE ARE NOT LOOKING TO REDESIGN OUR HOUSE STYLE. THE NEW PAGE MUST FIT WITH OUR CURRENT DESIGNS.
CONTEXT
A co-founder and key member of our team - our product lead, Sasha - is stepping back into a board role from June 1st, when he takes on a new challenge as lead UX/UI at another company. One of his primary functions was UX/UI design. He will evaluate the designs and, ultimately, function (part-time) as your co-line manager with the CEO.
WHO WE WANT
We are looking for a permanent part time replacement to handle UX / UI upgrades and changes only. We anticipate 4-8 hours per week (but we usually underestimate our needs, so it could be a full day or more). We want a freelancing individual (not a large UX/UI company) with whom we can build a relationship (though a small team - partners, is fine too). This project is sort of an 'interview' / Trial.
YOUR PROFILE
You need to speak good English. Ideally you will be familiar with Adobe XD (and we will share files with you). But this project could be done in Sketch or Figma. You will need to be able to work closely with our front end developer. You will need to have a portfolio with a few examples of your UX / UI designs. If you are still studying UX/UI, or relatively new, that's OK - we are looking for talent and potential as well as experience.
PROCESS
Submit a preliminary design for PC only with, CV and a portfolio link. We will select the best 3-5 and commission the project from you following a brief Zoom chat. All shortlisted candidates will get access to our file library and £50 for completing their designs for PC (with our suggestions/modifications), phone and tablet.
The best two will both have the opportunity to implement their designs with our front-end developer Ivan. Whoeover does NOT get a permanent role will get an extra £50 for their trouble.
WARNING:
Don't try and do a new design which has nothing to do with our house style.
Don't get into this unless your English is pretty good.
Don't get into this if you're a designer only but would have no idea how to brief / collaborate with a front-end developer.
Don't forget that it's just a PC screen page design we want first, together with your CV and portfolio (Freelancer portfolio, fine)
Good luck!
