Android Permission Onboarding QA Testing
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
My Android app requests the “Phone Permission – Overlay permission (show on top)” as part of its very first-run onboarding. I need fresh eyes to verify that this flow behaves correctly across a wide range of devices, with special attention to brands that ship heavily customised Android builds such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and other lesser-known or non-standard models.
Scope
• Install the current release from scratch on each device you have access to and walk through the entire onboarding once.
• Observe every prompt related to the overlay permission: wording, order, visibility, and whether the user is taken to the correct system screen.
• Note any brand-specific quirks (e.g., hidden toggles, additional confirmation pages, or manufacturer security scans that block or confuse the request).
• Capture screen recordings or annotated screenshots plus exact device details (brand, model, Android version, ROM skin, language).
• Summarise any failure or deviation from the expected Google-standard flow, including reproducible steps.
Deliverables
1. A concise test report per device covering first-time installation and setup.
2. Media evidence (video or screenshots) of each permission interaction.
3. Recommendations to streamline or clarify the flow where problems appear.
No need to handle reinstall scenarios or mid-session permission changes for now; the focus is strictly that very first onboarding journey.
Requirements:
Must have access to one or more Android devices from brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, or similar.
Test the onboarding permission screens carefully.
Record the screen while testing.
Report any issues, unexpected behavior, permission-blocking problems, or confusing user experience.
Provide device model, Android version, and brand/custom OS version if available.
