I’m putting together a transportation plan that zeroes in on road and highway infrastructure. The project calls for a seasoned urban planner who can turn high-level goals into an actionable strategy that guides future construction, upgrades, and policy decisions.
Scope
The work begins with a thorough analysis of existing corridors, traffic volumes, and safety data. From there, I need recommendations on network capacity, alignment alternatives, right-of-way requirements, and phased improvements. Traffic modeling (e.g., Synchro or VISSIM), GIS mapping, and conceptual geometric design in tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D should be integrated into your workflow so findings are both data-driven and presentation-ready.
Deliverables
• Baseline assessment report summarizing current conditions, constraints, and opportunities
• Scenario-based growth forecasts with accompanying maps and traffic performance metrics
• Conceptual layout drawings for proposed roadway and interchange treatments
• Phased implementation plan that highlights permitting steps, stakeholder touchpoints, and potential funding mechanisms
Acceptance Criteria
The final package must combine editable source files (GIS layers, CAD drawings, model files) with a concise executive summary that can be shared with decision-makers. All recommendations should conform to prevailing design standards and reference the data or assumption behind each figure.
