Parking Lot Traffic Flow Redesign
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Our existing parking lot works, but it doesn’t move: cars back-up, pedestrians weave between bumpers, and everyone seems to enter and exit at the same time. I need a civil engineer who can rethink the entire layout with one clear goal—better traffic flow—while keeping every line on the plan fully compliant with local building codes, ADA requirements, and fire-safety regulations.
The critical pain points are internal circulation and the arrangement of individual parking spaces. Please study the current geometry, turning radii, and pedestrian paths, then propose a layout that channels vehicles smoothly, shortens searching time for a spot, and clearly separates cars from foot traffic. Signage, striping, curb work, and any recommended adjustments to entry or exit geometry should be part of the concept.
Deliverables I expect:
• A revised site plan (PDF + editable CAD) showing all parking stalls, drive aisles, curb lines, walks, ramps, and fire lanes
• Circulation analysis illustrating how vehicles and emergency apparatus maneuver the new layout
• ADA compliance checklist referencing current standards
• Brief memo summarizing code references, assumptions, and any phasing notes for construction
I will provide the existing survey, traffic counts, and as-built drawings upon award. Let me know your relevant experience with parking facilities and your anticipated turnaround time so we can get cars flowing again.
