Citywide Zoning & Land Use Plan
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I need a seasoned urban planner to craft a full-scale zoning and land-use plan that will guide our entire city’s growth over the next decade. This assignment is strictly city-wide in scope, so you’ll be looking at every neighborhood, employment center, corridor, and open space when shaping future land allocations.
What I expect from you:
• A data-driven inventory of existing land uses and their regulatory constraints
• A clear future land-use map (GIS-ready) that balances housing, employment, civic, and green space needs
• A revised zoning framework—district definitions, permitted/conditional uses, bulk standards, and supporting text ready for municipal adoption
• A concise implementation strategy that flags quick wins, long-term phases, and any required policy amendments
Your process should weave in stakeholder engagement recommendations, align with state enabling legislation, and reflect best practices in resiliency and transit-oriented development. Proficiency with ArcGIS (or QGIS) for mapping, plus solid drafting skills for the written code, is essential.
I’ll provide existing GIS layers, demographic projections, and previous studies. Your final package must be delivered in editable GIS formats (shapefile or GeoPackage) and an accompanying PDF report. Once I review the draft, we’ll complete one comprehensive revision round before sign-off.
If you’ve steered a city-scale zoning overhaul before, I’d love to see a brief sample or reference. Let’s craft a plan that sets a clear, workable vision for our city’s future.
