Unreal 5 Rig Deformation Fix

Job ID: 40044826

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I have a single, fully-rigged character in Unreal Engine 5.6. When I retarget external animations the mesh inflates unnaturally—muscle-style bulging shows up on the arms, legs, and torso. Everything else in the rig is intact; the issue only appears during animation playback, so I suspect incorrect weight mapping, joint-orientations, or retarget poses rather than a structural problem with the skeleton.

Your task is to diagnose the cause, apply the necessary skin weight, bone transform, or retarget-pose adjustments, and return a clean solution that plays the same animations with no visible bulging inside UE 5.6. A lightweight approach is fine—blueprint tweaks, Control Rig overrides, or quick weight edits in Maya/Blender and re-import—so long as the end result runs natively in the engine.

Deliverables
• A corrected character file (FBX or native UE asset) plus any updated retarget or IK settings
• Three sample animation clips demonstrating that the arms, legs, and torso now move without distortion
• Brief notes on what was changed so I can replicate the fix on future characters

When you reply, attach past work that shows you have solved similar deformation or retargeting problems in Unreal. No lengthy proposal needed—examples speak for themselves.
