Unreal Mixamo Combat Animation Setup

Job ID: 40021082

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I already have a full set of attack animations and the accompanying humanoid skeleton; what I need now is for these assets to live comfortably inside Unreal Engine. The task breaks down into two main goals:

• Import the Mixamo humanoid skeleton correctly, retargeting it if necessary so that it follows Unreal’s standard naming conventions and supports root-motion where appropriate.
• Build an Animation Blueprint (or layered montages) that lets the melee attack moves flow naturally from one to the next and back to idle, walk, or any existing loops without visible pops or foot-slide.

I’m primarily concerned with melee attacks, so please prioritise those transitions and combo chains. Everything should be organised in clean state machines or montages that a designer can extend later—no hard-coded hacks. Once complete I’ll test the setup by rapidly spamming the attack buttons in PIE and confirming the mesh never snaps or drifts.

Deliverable: the updated Unreal project (UE 5.x) with the imported skeleton, curated animation assets, and a working Animation Blueprint demonstrating smooth melee combat flow.
