Unreal Metahuman Project - Stories of older adults
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
We are interested in expanding our Innovations in Aging program at the University of Arizona with some instructional content of digital older adults (metahumans) sharing information about their lives. These videos will be used to direct analysis and conversation within the class content. Our first step is to identify if we can create some realistic and financially sustainable pre-rendered animations of these metahumans. To accomplish this, we need someone with experience in creating metahumans, capturing and applying facial animation from voice actors, basic lighting skills and the ability to animate realistic body movements of someone sitting and talking.
If we can produce high quality products that students are engaged with, then in step two we would like to expand the project to branching communication scenarios that would better utilize the broader functionality of unreal engine. Further steps with additional interactive components are possible if success continues.
While this is negotiable, for this first step we are looking to produce between 30-60 minutes of metahumans talking, these will be broken down into 1-5 minutes clips, across 5 different models of older adults, and all framing is close-up with plan backgrounds (similar to the Unreal 5 metahuman example videos). The older adult models can be stock, we don't have anyone specific in the real world who needs to be replicated as a metahuman model. University of Arizona must keep ownership of all project related files (3d, audio, scripts, etc..) however the artist(s) are welcome to continue using files developed for their own purposes or self-promotion. The project timeline is very flexible with quality and sustainability being the most important factors of this endeavor.
