Unreal Map Creation with TrueSky
Budget: $20 – $60 NZD
I am currently looking for someone who can create a large tiled Landscape in Unreal. It is supposed to be for a flight simulation game so it needs to look good from a few kilometers above but doesn't need to be detailed up close since the player will rarely get closer than about 100 meters.
The map should ideally be around 75x75 km^2. It should mostly consist of mountains but include a bit of ocean in the east as well. It can in general be very light on detail maybe add a few trees here and there but I don't need any buildings or anything like that.
In my project, I mostly work with TrueSky: https://simul.co/ for lighting and weather since it allows for very high-quality clouds which enhance the look of the general sky quite a lot.
The creation of weather with TrueSky will be one of the most important parts here. Additionally, water that is very high-performance but still looks good from far up is important as well. The Unreal Water plugin is not really suitable for this due to the large playable area. In my tests, a water plane was working pretty well but it's a bit tricky to make it look good and find a way to use it properly with spatial loading. Lastly, some kind of solution to hide edges of the map like fog needs to be added, but make sure the vision range is high (around 10 kilometers).
The actual mountain area is of course important as well but as mentioned above it can be rather basic. Just make sure that the mountains "make sense" so basically that they don't like a stretched-out 2x2 km^2 mountain range but an actually large one.
I will need a few more maps after this so if everything works out well there will be a few more projects after this.
The use of TrueSky is required here. There is a demo version that you can use for a month which should be enough for this project. For later projects, we can talk about whether I will provide an account or if we will just adjust the price.
Here are 2 examples of similar games that us TrueSky as well. You don't have to match the high quality environments of Ace Combat a more stylized (but realistic) approach like Project Wingman is totally fine:
