Unreal Engine 5 Programmer for RPG Enhancements

Job ID: 40143683

Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD

Project Description

We are seeking an experienced Unreal Engine 5 programmer with strong C++ and Blueprint skills for contract-based work on an existing multiplayer roleplay project.

This is not a prototype and not a greenfield build. Core systems already exist and are live. The work is focused on integration, extension, and polish, not rebuilding systems from scratch.

You must be able to:

Work independently

Read and follow a GDD accurately

Communicate clearly in English

Deliver against milestones without hand-holding

Payment Structure

Milestone-based

Paid per deliverable

NDA required before access to source/GDD

Scope of Work
1. Inventory & Clothing System (Existing System)

Inventory system already exists (C++ / Blueprints, MySQL-backed)

Fully functional, currently virtual-only

Required work (no rebuild):

Visual equip/unequip of clothing items

Backpacks and worn gear visibly attached to the player character

Correct detachment when items are dropped

Convert the existing virtual inventory into a visible/physical system

Ensure proper multiplayer replication and animation compatibility

Quotes should reflect integration and completion, not full system creation.

2. Mobile Phone & VOIP Call System (Existing VOIP)

Replicated VOIP system already exists

Phone calling must:

Use the existing VOIP system

Create a unique voice channel per call

Connect only the two players involved

Prevent channel reuse while a call is active

This simulates private phone calls, not a new voice system.

3. Voice Chat Mouth Animation (Small Additional Task)

Add basic mouth movement animation when players are speaking

Applies to proximity chat, radio, and phone calls

Does not need perfect audio sync, only visually believable

Must be lightweight and multiplayer-safe

Requirements

Proven Unreal Engine 5 experience

Strong C++ and Blueprint knowledge

Multiplayer networking experience

Comfortable working with existing codebases

Able to provide examples or portfolio of similar work

If you overquote, ignore scope notes, or propose rebuilding existing systems, you will not be considered.

Serious developers only.
