Unreal Engine Game Upgrade

Job ID: 40037584

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a game concept sketched out in broad strokes and now need an experienced Unreal Engine developer to turn those ideas into a playable build. The genre, platform, and final feature set are still flexible, so this first engagement will focus on rapidly prototyping core systems and helping me evaluate what feels best once we see it on-screen.

Here’s what I’m aiming for in this phase:
• A project set up in Unreal Engine 5, organised and version-controlled so we can iterate quickly.
• At least one core gameplay loop fully playable—whether that ends up being a shooting mechanic, a quest-driven RPG flow, or a tight platforming segment will depend on our discussions and your early feedback.
• Clean, well-commented Blueprints (or C++ if more efficient) so future expansion is straightforward.
• Short demo level showcasing the mechanic, basic UI, placeholder art, and lighting that communicates the intended mood.
• A brief technical document outlining what you built, how to extend it, and any asset or plugin dependencies.

If you have solid experience with networking, AI behaviour trees, or designing in-game economies, please highlight it; those systems are on my roadmap and could become part of later milestones. Familiarity with Perforce or Git, Lumen, Nanite, and performance profiling for PC and next-gen consoles will be a plus.

I value clear communication, regular playable builds, and concise commit notes. Once the prototype hits the fun threshold, we can expand into full production together.
