Semi-Realistic Captive Animations

Job ID: 39798250

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need a compact set of semi-realistic animations that will bring a rescued hostage NPC to life inside Unreal Engine 5. The scene begins with the character bound on the ground and ends with them following the player to safety, so every motion has to sell nervous relief and lingering fear.

Core moves
• Sitting idle while tied up – a subtle loop that can hold for long shots, slight trembling or shallow breaths included.
• Standing idle once freed – hands half-raised, uneasy shifting weight.
• A single, clean get-up transition from the seated pose to the standing nervous pose.
• Slow “follow” walk cycle: cautious steps, occasional glances around.
• Quick flinch / fear reactions that I can blend in for jump-scare moments.
• Optional polish passes such as small fidgets, a stumble in the walk, or ducking for cover will earn extra points.

Technical expectations
All clips must drop straight into UE5, so FBX exported to the standard Mannequin skeleton, MetaHuman, or a clean custom rig is fine as long as retargeting works. Please keep loops seamless and transitions clean; no foot sliding or popping keys. Hand-keyed passes, refined mocap, or a hybrid workflow is welcome provided the final result feels believable.

Nice-to-have additions
If you can layer subtle facial animation or a breathing track, or deliver the animations pre-assembled in a Level Sequence for cinematic use, let me know. Support for additive or layered blending would be a bonus.

Style guidance
I’m after grounded, film-like motion: not overly cartoony, but slightly stylised so it reads well in third-person gameplay. I don’t have strict reference clips yet, so I’m happy to review any mood boards or short test captures you suggest before we lock in the final keys.

Deliverables
1. FBX (or UE5 asset) for each animation clip listed above.
2. A short showcase in-engine or video capture proving loops and transitions.
3. Documentation of frame ranges, root motion notes, and any retargeting steps needed.

Send over a quick note on your preferred rig, your typical toolset (Maya, Blender, MotionBuilder, Rokoko, etc.), and any sample hostage or fear-based animations you’ve done before. I’ll iterate fast on feedback so you can wrap this pack cleanly.
