Project: The Silence of the Mining Bay -- Type: First-Person Horror Game (Unreal Engine 5)

Job ID: 39726417

Budget: €10 – €500 EUR

Summary:
I designed and developed a fully playable first-person horror level in Unreal Engine 5, focusing on the four key aspects of level design: blockout, atmosphere (lighting/sound), environmental storytelling, and pacing.

The game is set in an abandoned mining village haunted by the aftermath of a tragic accident. Through exploration and environmental clues, players uncover the mystery without relying on dialogue or readable notes.

Key Features:

Immersive FPP experience with flashlight and head-bob system

Dynamic pacing: slow exploration → rising tension → short escape climax

Environmental storytelling through objects (abandoned office, broken radio, footprints, etc.)

Advanced lighting and atmosphere: Lumen, Volumetric Fog, post-process effects

Realistic sound design with reverb zones and sound triggers

Extra immersion with a “recording widget” for a YouTuber-style vibe

Result:
This project demonstrates my ability to create atmospheric horror levels that combine player flow, tension management, and storytelling without traditional dialogue. It also highlights my technical experience in Unreal Engine 5 with lighting, sound, and UI implementation.
