Unity Octagonal Grid & Movement

Job ID: 39933338

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m building a prototype in Unity that revolves around a 40-tile octagonal grid. Each tile is a high-detail 3D octagon and the layout follows my own custom specifications: a unique mix of rows and columns, a few intentionally irregular arrangements, and some very specific tile-to-tile connections so middle pieces and edge fillers snap together seamlessly.

Here’s what I need from you:

• A reusable grid system prefab that spawns those 40 high-detail octagon tiles exactly to spec, keeping every connection airtight so there are no gaps or misalignments.
• A simple scene that shows the grid in play, using free-store placeholders for the player character.
• A controller script that lets the character move from tile to tile along valid connections and clearly indicates the chosen direction each step—onscreen arrows, highlights, or anything similarly obvious.
• Clean, well-commented C# code so I can tweak tile counts or slot in new meshes later without rewriting the logic.

If you’re comfortable manipulating meshes, writing clean grid algorithms, and setting up straightforward character locomotion in Unity, this should be a concise task.
