Unity Gameplay Mechanics Overhaul

Job ID: 40328897

Budget: $2 – $8 USD

I already have a working Unity project in place and clear reference clips that show exactly how I want the game to feel. What I still need is a focused pass on the core gameplay loop so everything plays, reads, and scales the way it should.

Here’s what I would like you to tackle:
• Character controls – tighten movement, jumping and camera handling so the avatar feels responsive across keyboard-mouse and gamepad.
• Enemy AI – create smarter, more varied behaviours (patrol, chase, attack, retreat) that react to the player and the environment.
• Level progression – hook up checkpoints, unlocks and pacing logic so players advance smoothly and the difficulty ramps up predictably.

You’ll be working in my existing Unity project; I’ll give you the repo and the reference videos as soon as we start. Clean, well-commented C# scripts and inspector-friendly settings are a must so I can keep iterating after your pass. If a mechanic needs a quick placeholder model or UI element to demo properly, feel free to drop it in.

Acceptance criteria
• Controls demo scene runs at 60 fps on my target machine and reflects the reference videos.
• At least two enemy types showcase the new AI states without errors in the Console.
• Level 1-3 progression flows end-to-end, automatically saving unlocked stages.

Let me know your experience with Unity’s Input System, NavMesh/Pathfinding, and any AI frameworks you prefer. We can set milestones around each mechanic and iterate quickly once we sync up.
