Unity Floor Texture Guidance

Job ID: 40036181

Budget: $50 – $0 AUD

I’m rebuilding the look of my scene and the very first job is to swap every existing floor and environment tile for a fresh, better-looking texture. I know my way around Unity a bit but I want to understand the smartest workflow rather than just be handed a finished file, so I’m looking for a patient Unity developer who can teach while we work.

Here’s what I need right now:
• Step-by-step help selecting or refining a seamless tile texture that fits the art style of the project. I don’t have the final asset yet, so I’ll rely on your advice about resolution, PBR maps, and any marketplace sources you trust.
• A live walk-through (screen-share on Discord is perfect) showing how to apply the new material across the entire scene—whether that means updating terrain layers, tilemap palettes, or swapping materials on a mesh grid—while avoiding broken lightmaps and keeping draw calls low.
• Clear explanations of why each step matters: prefab links, batching considerations, texture import settings, UV scaling, etc., so I can repeat the process myself later.

If things go smoothly I’d like to continue with you on the next milestones—building and unit animations, then database additions—but the immediate focus is the floor textures.

Fluent English and a supportive teaching style are essential; I learn fastest when I can ask questions in real time. Deliverables will be:
1. Scene updated with the new texture applied correctly.
2. A brief written recap of the workflow we covered, including any tools or settings you recommend.

Let’s jump on Discord, share screens, and make the ground look great while leveling up my Unity skills.
