Unity Developer for Data-Driven 3D Horse Racing Simulation (WebGL)
Budget: $7 – $10 USD
I’m looking for a solid Unity developer to help me build a realistic 3D horse race replay system. This isn't just a simple animation; I need a universal engine that takes race data from a CSV or text file and translates it into a broadcast-quality replay.
The logic is based on a board game where movement is determined by Movement Points (MP) per furlong.
You’ll need to implement a system where:
- Standard movement costs 10 MP per box.
- Turns (specifically lanes 4 and out) cost 15 MP.
- Lane shifts cost 1-2 MP.
Most importantly, any "remainders" from the MP math need to carry over to the next calculation so the position stays perfectly accurate to the data.
It will require specific assets: JK Timmons’ Horse Racing Kentucky for the track and gate, and Enozone’s Sport Horses for the horses and jockeys. You’ll be responsible for the URP conversion and making sure the horses scale correctly to the gate.
The goal is a "one-click" engine. I should be able to drop in a CSV for a 5-furlong sprint or a 1.5-mile marathon, and the system should automatically position the starting gate, swap the track surface (Dirt/Turf), and run the race.
Requirements:
- Strong C# skills for data parsing and movement math.
- Experience with Cinemachine for a "TV-style" camera feel (think Parx or Gulfstream replays).
- Ability to optimize for WebGL so the races load quickly on a forum.
- Good eye for smooth animation blending so the horses look natural as they change speeds.
