Unity Chess Visual & Bug Refresh

Job ID: 40153970

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I have a fully playable 3D chess game built in Unity, but its look and feel—and a few lingering glitches—still betray its prototype roots. I want a seasoned Unity developer-artist to help me push it to the next level.

First, the visuals: I specifically need the textures on every chess piece upgraded to something far sharper and more realistic, and I’d love the surrounding environment refreshed so the whole board feels cohesive and modern. No new meshes are required; it’s strictly a texture pass that blends cleanly with the existing PBR pipeline.

Second, the code: during longer matches I’m hitting a handful of intermittent bugs (piece selection sometimes lags, and the camera occasionally snaps to the wrong angle). You’ll need to track these down, fix them, and hand back a clean, stable build.

Deliverables
• Reworked high-resolution textures for all 32 pieces and the background environment, imported and configured in the current Unity project.
• Patched C# scripts with the above selection and camera issues resolved, verified in both editor and a Windows build.
• A short changelog so I can follow every asset and code adjustment you make.

I’ll give you the Git repository and assets as soon as we start; just commit to your own branch and submit a pull request when you’re done so I can test and merge. If this round goes smoothly there’s more polish work ahead, but for now I simply want the game to look sharper and run without hiccups.
