Unity Camera & Controller Fix

Job ID: 40269003

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I have a small 3D Unity project that has to be handed in on March 3rd, and two stubborn bugs are blocking me.

First, the camera no longer follows the player. I’m not using Cinemachine right now—just a simple follow script tied to the main camera—but it seems to have lost its target after a refactor and now stays fixed at the origin.

Second, the character controller has started drifting as soon as the scene starts. The player object slides across the floor even when no keys are pressed, and any movement inputs feel laggy or simply ignored. There are no warnings or errors in the console, which makes tracing the cause trickier.

Here’s what I need from you:

• Inspect and repair the camera-follow logic so it reliably tracks the player, with smooth movement and no clipping.
• Diagnose why the controller’s Rigidbody/CharacterController script is applying unwanted forces, then correct it so the character stays still until input is received and moves responsively afterward.
• Provide a short recap of the changes (scripts, inspector tweaks, Input System settings, etc.) so I can learn from the fix.

The project is set up in Unity 6.
with both Input Systems enabled. I’ll send a zipped copy plus a quick screen recording that shows both problems in action. I’m ready to jump on a brief call or chat while you work so the turnaround stays fast—I need a working build well before the March 3rd deadline.
