VR Software for Healthcare via Meta Quest
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
Unity XR Developer – Meta Quest Enterprise Remote Control System
Project Overview
We are developing an enterprise virtual reality platform for healthcare and wellness environments using Meta Quest headsets.
This is not a gaming project.
The objective is to build a professional system where an Android tablet can remotely control one or multiple Meta Quest headsets over a local Wi-Fi network.
The application will initially be deployed in a healthcare environment.
⸻
Project Scope
Develop an MVP consisting of two Android applications.
1. Meta Quest Application (APK)
Runs on Meta Quest 3S.
Responsibilities:
* Connect to an Android tablet over local Wi-Fi
* Maintain a persistent WebSocket connection
* Receive remote commands
* Play local 360° MP4 videos
* Pause, Resume and Stop playback
* Return playback status
* Return battery level
* Return Wi-Fi status
* Return storage information
* Automatically reconnect after network interruption
* Support kiosk deployment through ArborXR or ManageXR
No cloud connectivity is required for the MVP.
⸻
2. Android Tablet Application (APK)
Runs on an Android tablet.
Responsibilities:
* Automatically discover multiple Meta Quest headsets on the same network
* Display all connected devices
* Show:
* Battery
* Wi-Fi status
* Storage
* Current playback status
* Select a headset
* Display available local media
* Start playback remotely
* Pause
* Resume
* Stop
* Display playback timer
* Display session completion
* Support multiple Quest headsets from a single tablet
The tablet should be able to manage approximately 20 Quest headsets simultaneously.
⸻
Network Architecture
Android Tablet
↓
Dedicated Local Wi-Fi
↓
Meta Quest Headsets
Communication should use persistent WebSockets.
No Bluetooth.
No cloud dependency for the MVP.
⸻
Media Library
Media files are stored locally on the Quest headset.
Example:
/Videos/
* Forest.mp4
* Ocean.mp4
* Sleep.mp4
* Nature.mp4
* Relaxation.mp4
The Quest application should automatically scan the folder.
No hardcoded media list.
⸻
MVP Features
Quest Application
* Splash screen
* Waiting screen
* WebSocket server
* Local 360° video playback
* Play
* Pause
* Resume
* Stop
* Session complete screen
* Battery reporting
* Wi-Fi reporting
* Device information reporting
⸻
Android Tablet Application
* Device discovery
* Multi-device dashboard
* Connect / Disconnect
* Media library
* Start
* Pause
* Resume
* Stop
* Session timer
* Device status monitoring
⸻
Technology Requirements
Required:
* Unity
* C#
* Meta Quest development
* OpenXR
* Meta XR SDK
* Android development
* WebSockets
