Simple MR Video Wall Game
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I need a lightweight mixed-reality build for Meta Quest that lets a single player anchor a virtual screen to a real-world wall and watch a short pre-loaded video. The “game” element is minimal—think of it as a solo adventure whose entire objective is finding a surface, tapping to spawn the screen, and controlling basic playback (play / pause / restart).
Core flow
• Plane detection prompts the user to pick a wall.
• A single tap places the screen; a second tap starts the video.
• Standard transport controls sit beneath the screen; once the video ends, the user can reposition the wall or quit.
Technical notes
Unity with the Meta Presence Platform or an equivalent native OpenXR approach is fine, as long as passthrough and plane detection remain stable on Quest 2/3. The video file will be supplied as an .mp4; please stream it locally to avoid buffering issues. All assets can be placeholders—functionality matters more than polish.
Deliverables
1. Unity (or native) project source.
2. Signed APK ready for sideloading on Quest.
3. Short README explaining build steps and SDK versions.
The experience should launch straight into passthrough, require no external accounts, and run at a comfortable frame rate. Once the APK is on-device I’ll test and confirm that the wall anchoring, playback, and controls work as described before marking the project complete.
