2D MMO Sandbox Core Build
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have the full concept for a PC-only 2D MMO sandbox inspired by Pixel Worlds and I’m ready to see it running. What I need right now is the playable foundation: account creation that stores credentials securely, a clean main menu that leads into the world, and enough networked infrastructure so I can begin plugging in the building, chat, trading, and character-customization systems I’ve already designed. As Of Right Now I just need the basics (Main Menu, Account creation and world making/saving if possible)
Engine choice is open—Unity, Godot, or anything you’re comfortable with—as long as the end result is stable, well-commented, and easy for me to expand. A lightweight server back end (Node, .NET, or similar) plus a simple database for user data will be expected.
Deliverables
• Login/registration flow with encrypted password storage
• Main menu UI that routes to create account, log in, settings, quit
• Basic multiplayer lobby/world scene proving persistent connections for multiple players
• Clear, modular code structure and brief setup/readme so I can continue development
Acceptance criteria
— A compiled PC build and full project source that launches to the main menu, registers and logs in users, and drops them into the shared 2D scene without errors.
— Documentation outlining project architecture, server setup, and where future systems (building, chat, trade) will hook in.
Let’s set up a quick milestone for the menu and account flow; once that is solid, we can iterate on additional features.
