Lake/Sea Survival Game Development
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Dear chosen developer, I know this seams long, but I have what I think to be a promising game idea. I am a creative person and have been planning this for almost a month don’t get scared away by all these words. You would just need to read these next few sentences to get the idea and can then refer to the many other details and questions and just to make it more interesting and of a complex, well built experience for gamers. I’m seeking a skilled game developer to create a survival game similar to DayZ, but set primarily on a large lake or sea. The game should be built using Unity or honestly whatever you think this project can be accomplished in/whatever your most comfortable using. The map should consist of multiple large coastal cities, a mountain/hilly region, plains, forests, villages, farm houses, military bases Etc. these elements should be somewhat similar to dayz, this is not the main aspect of the game though, this is only the land surrounding the water which is the main focus. Players spawn with minimal items right next to the coast with a boat parked about 20 feet away from shore. The type of boat/server players will get depends on how big the party is. Solos/duos will get a 4 seat fishing boat with the back 2 seats and posts missing. This allows for storage chests and barrels which can be acquired later on. It would be cool to have a front deck for storage and movement space as well. I liked the image I found, just without the two back seats. Trios/squads should have something similar to a small one-story tugboat similar to the image I’ve placed below but with a v shaped hull like a normal boat. I just liked the dimensions of the green one. I also put an image of the Persian gulf because I think a lake with a similar shape would be cool. I circled that peninsula because that would be the perfect size for an island in the middle of the water kind of where the P for Persian is on the map. Obviously is probably shouldn’t look exactly like this real-life place but I liked the look. I want it to be similar in dayz in the way that these boats can be heavily fortified with walls and locked door with the chosen sacrifice of losing speed on the water. This should be pretty unique and customizable depending on the needs of the group who is building it. I thought it would be cool if they could cut down trees to make the original walls and can strengthen them by melting metal shards and pieces primarily from industrial areas or the junk yard and melt them into pieces which can be placed on top of the wood. The tools should be mostly the same as dayz but hopefully involving slightly less tools to simplify the building process. There should be a large beach with military tents and non functional abandoned vehicles
Containing military loot and building tools.
One of the big tents can have a map with military invasion plans to attack the military base on the other side but never did due to the post apocalyptic event whatever that may be. Keep in mind the base on the other side cannot be seen from this side because of the map size. It should feel like a small ocean. Compared to the boats. The one main island is the only one that has buildings but there could be many others with just a few trees with buried loot and rocks for temporarily docking the boat. It would be cool to have an abandoned freighter with openable cargo boxes and a partially explorable interior. I also thought there could be the same thing but a few military battles ships and smaller scouting boats to gain loot and materials when deep at sea. Thank you so much!
I’m 17 so don’t have a huge budget. Probably about 50 depending on when I get paid and stuff. Hopefully this can be a fun project rather than an extremely profitable one.
Key Requirements:
- Robust survival mechanics
- Engaging combat elements
- Detailed project proposals are a must
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Unity
- Strong background in developing survival and combat mechanics
- Experience in creating immersive aquatic environments
- Previous work on similar projects is a plus
Please include in your proposal:
- Your approach to developing survival mechanics and combat
- Relevant past work and experience
Looking forward to your proposals!
