Game Developer needed -- 4
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I want to build a fully-featured role-playing game for PC and need a developer who can take it from concept to a playable vertical slice. The core requirement is clear: this is a PC title, not mobile or console, and the gameplay must embrace classic RPG elements—character progression, narrative choices, exploration, combat systems, and a robust save/load setup.
Although I’m still deciding whether the adventure unfolds in a fantasy realm, a sci-fi universe, or a modern backdrop, I’d value your creative input during pre-production so the setting enhances the mechanics we design together. Unity or Unreal Engine are my current front-runners, but I’m open to alternatives you can demonstrate real PC success with.
Deliverables (milestone-based):
• Vertical slice on Windows that showcases core RPG mechanics and runs at a stable 60 FPS on a mid-range PC.
• Well-structured, commented source code stored in Git, along with art placeholders and build instructions.
• Developer documentation that details architecture, asset pipeline, and guidelines for expanding content post-launch.
Acceptance criteria:
• Modular code that follows industry best practices and is easy to hand off.
• No critical crashes or progression blockers in the vertical slice.
• Clear demonstration of character progression, dialogue system, combat loop, and save/load workflow.
When you reply, please link me to PC titles you’ve shipped—ideally RPGs—and outline your preferred engine, estimated timeline for the vertical slice, and any questions you have about scope or creative direction.
