GPS Game MVP Build
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I’m ready to put a playable proof-of-concept in gamers’ hands: an Android mobile game that fuses real-world GPS check-ins with quick combat, a straightforward EXP / leveling loop, and a simple on-screen avatar.
Core loop
• When the player’s device enters a predefined GPS zone the app auto-detects the location and prompts a “check-in”.
• Each check-in launches a brief combat encounter (single-player AI only for now). Winning grants EXP, triggering a level-up when thresholds are met.
• Level-ups show a single polished animation effect; no other character motions are required at this stage.
Feature set for this MVP
– Android build and source (Unity is my first choice, but feel free to suggest another engine that handles GPS elegantly).
– Easy-to-edit list of GPS zones stored locally or pulled from a lightweight backend / JSON file.
– EXP table, level tracker, and basic stat scaling.
– One customizable avatar placeholder (gender / colour swap is enough).
– Simple UI: map or list of nearby zones, combat result screen, level-up popup with the animation.
Deliverables
1. Installable APK and full project files.
2. Clear build instructions so I can compile future iterations.
3. Short README explaining how to add or adjust GPS zones, EXP values, and avatar art.
Acceptance criteria
• App recognises at least three test zones and reliably fires the combat screen on entry.
• EXP accrues correctly; leveling animation triggers at the exact threshold.
• APK runs on current Android 12+ devices without crashes.
This is phase one of a larger cross-platform vision, so clean, commented code and modular architecture will be highly valued for the iOS expansion that follows.
