Unity programmer
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Hello Freelancer Community! First and foremost, thank you for your time and interest.
I am the lead (and right now only) developer of a game that is already published on steam, named Disembowel (you can search for Disembowel gameplay on youtube to check a gameplay video), This game is a multiplayer first person horror game built in Unity. You can check the following link for the steam page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2015650/Disembowel/
Currently, I am working on improving almost every aspect of the game, from UI to AI behaviour, world interaction, movement algorithms, and adding new features and mechanics to the game, altogether with a new level. Having said so, the game will keep being updated, as a couple of new levels are going to be released after the one we are currently working on.
We are currently searching for programmers with experience in C# and Unity to help improve most of the game mechanics. This project uses the Photon Fusion library for multiplayer and network management, so knowledge and experience with this library is required for the job. Some of the tasks that needs to be done (preferably we would like to hire someone that has the skills required to fulfill most of this tasks) are the following:
- Enhance the enemy AI to a higher level of behaviour complexity, implementing new mechanics and fixing and enhancing the current ones.
- Optimize the level structure and assets to reduce the polycount and enhance the game performance.
- Implement a series of checks and improve the game flow under certain network events, such as disconnection from the server, or disconnection from a peer.
- Improve the Player controller which at the moment is clumsy.
- Optimize the networked simulated behaviour and algorithms to avoid lag and certain desyncs.
- Implement a series of VFX to enhance the overall feel and graphics of the game.
- Bugfixing and code optimization where it is necesary.
- Enhance the current game mechanics, such as when picking an object, instead of the object dissapearing, having a "pick animation", and things of the sort.
- Implement new game mechanics that would benefit the game atmosphere and gameplay, such as hiding inside a barrel, doors locked by keys (halfway implemented), puzzles, adding more interactive elements to tell a story inside the game, etc.
As as sidenote, although not at all required, experience in the "Feel" asset for Unity would be a great addition, as we are trying to implement that library to enhance the graphical feedback of the game.
For the selection process, those freelancers who bid on this proyects will be, at first instance, interviewed and asked for previous experience in C#, Unity and Fusion, and at second instance, a small task will be handed to check the freelancer's skill regarding the requirements of this proyect.
If you have any doubt, feel free to leave a question on your bid and I will gladly answer them!
Again, thank you for your time, and have a great day!
