Unity build streaming to live streaming services

Job ID: 36032937

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

We have a Unity game build that captures a camera's audio + video and streams it out to YouTube or Twitch. Our current solution uses NDI, OBS, and 2 different plugins to successfully customize & stream game content with some mild setup required for the player. However, the compatibility versions of all the assets have fallen out of sync, so we are looking for a new ideal solution.

The ideal solution has:

1. Low overhead/high performance
2. HD audio + video capture
3. Minimal or zero setup time for the player, i.e. bundled with the game build

We are already in the middle of researching + validating a solution and have a few options:

1. Fixing the current OBS+NDI setup (could fail again in the future from version-sync issues)
2. Leveraging Unity Render Streaming (WebRTC-based, seems to require a web server)
3. Improve + use the Headless Movie Capture Unity asset (video quality being set too low & audio out of sync): https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/video/headless-movie-capture-140849

We believe that option (3) is the ideal opportunity since it's an all-in-one solution and is very performant. It seems that modifying the asset and/or FFMpeg would help resolve the observed issues, though we're not 100% sure.

We're open to new or modified options that would more optimally solve our challenge. Please apply or reach out with any questions that you may have!
