Unity Shader Debugging (2D game, using built in pipeline)

Job ID: 38656753

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

Looking for an expert in Unity shaders to fix a bug which has cropped up after upgrading Unity.

Our 2D game uses real shadows by casting shadows from the game sprites onto an invisible plane angled at 60 degrees to the camera. Everything was working fine in Unity 2022.3.5 but since updating Unity to a newer version (2022.3.49) that invisible plane is now preventing anything behind it from being rendered, so we have no backgrounds!

Note - everything still looks fine when playing in the editor, it's only compiled builds where the problem shows up.

I've attached the shader code, along with some screenshots showing the problem, and I can share a Unity project on request.

If you believe you can solve this, first of all please reply with the word "elephant" in your response so I know you've actually read the whole post, I won't waste my time responding to boilerplate replies who havn't read this.

Any questions just let me know.

Ideal skills and experience:
- Proficient in Unity and shader programming.
- Experience with the Built-in Render Pipeline.
- Ability to troubleshoot bugs effectively.
