Unity Game Coding -- 2
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
For anyone reading this getting deja vu, I recently posted this job. The freelancer that accepted it misunderstood my ad and was unable to actually do the work I needed, so I'm reposting.
I'm working on a Unity videogame in C# that has two modified asset kit systems to handle the combat.
This asset controls the player:
https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/systems/action-rpg-starter-kit-9076
This asset controls the monsters:
https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/ai/emerald-ai-2-0-40199
The two have been modified already to work together and have a few quality of life improvements, so for anyone familiar with one or the other they'll look slightly different.
For this job I'm wanting some editing done on the monster side, so most likely everything will be done with the emerald AI scripts.
Emerald AI has two basic combat settings: Melee and Ranged, and they both operate exactly how they sound.
For melee fighters, the combat is strictly hack and slash. For ranged fighters, the options are much more varied. You can add in particle effects, damage over time, magic circles, etc.
What I'm wanting to be able to have these settings on some melee attacks, like being able to give a boss a special attack, or a rogue type enemy a poison stab attack.
These variables exist in emerald AI already, but they can't be set for short range attacks, which is what I'm wanting.
For what I'm looking for: Any method you prefer that allows me to add special attacks to short range melee characters. You can add in a third mode, like: Melee, Ranged, or Special. You can give Melee attacks the options to have those possible settings added in. I don't care what route works easier, just as long as I can have have Melee monsters that can do two things:
1: Regular melee attacks
2: Special attacks like how the Ranged attacks work, but close range.
I have a test game with the scripts and demo monsters/player all set up already. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I would love to answer them. I'm trying to write this as clear as possible to avoid another lost week working with a person that only skimmed my ad.
PS: The test game has unrelated bugs that don't matter and are outside the scope of this project. If you see something wonky and would like to pitch a separate job for fixing X or Y then that's fine, but otherwise ignore anything else that's off. This job is strictly for giving melee monster AI a shiny new coat of paint.
