Unity Developer for Sensory Mobile App -- 2

Job ID: 39569050

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

Job Description:
We’re seeking a skilled Unity Developer to collaborate on a high-fidelity, interactive mobile experience focused on tactile, audio-visual immersion. This role will help bring to life a next-generation app that blends realistic object interaction with a layered sensory feedback loop (visuals, sound, haptics). You’ll be responsible for implementing smooth, physics-based interactions and visual polish using Unity’s URP pipeline—optimized for mid-tier Android and iOS devices.
This is a freelance contract (4–6 weeks), with potential for extension based on performance and roadmap alignment.

Responsibilities:
Develop touch-driven object interaction mechanics with timed visual/audio/haptic feedback.
Integrate 3D models and shaders using Unity URP (no HDRP) to simulate realistic slicing, deformation, and transitions.
Implement modular prefab-based systems to support scalable content (e.g., objects with variable textures, physics responses, FX).
Collaborate with VFX artists, sound designers, and product leads to ensure multi-sensory feedback synchronization (including use of FMOD or Wwise).
Optimize for performance across mid-range devices: <50ms latency, 30–60 FPS, <200 draw calls per action.
Support exportable replay functionality (auto-trimmed short clips with branded watermark).
Contribute to lightweight reward loop and progression mechanics (e.g., streak systems, point counters, cosmetic unlocks).

Ideal Candidate:
3+ years Unity experience with mobile optimization (URP, LOD, batching, GPU instancing).
Strong understanding of physics-based interaction, shaders, and VFX.
Prior work on sensory or rhythm-based apps, casual games, or simulation tools is a strong plus.
Experience with haptic and audio feedback integration (especially on iOS Taptic Engine and Android haptics APIs).
Familiarity with FMOD, Wwise, or other real-time audio engines.
Able to work independently and communicate asynchronously, with milestone accountability.
Portfolio that demonstrates polished mobile interactions, cinematic feel, or sensory depth.
