Unity Developer Needed for PC-Based Prototype
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm seeking an experienced Unity developer to create a small, standalone, PC-based prototype for a physics-centric strategy game. The game involves stacking blocks to control a circular arena. This initial prototype should focus on testing core mechanics, with visuals and polish being less critical at this stage.
The project has the potential to expand into a more dynamic and action-driven experience – possibly incorporating physics destruction mechanics akin to those in Angry Birds.
[Core Gameplay Requirements]
* Circular arena with defined player zones
* Player places stackable blocks (e.g., cubes) using mouse input
* The higher the tower, the larger the player’s influence radius
* Influence zones update in real time based on stack height
* Physics plays a central role – unstable towers can collapse
* A basic AI opponent that also places blocks (simple logic is fine)
* Win condition: player wins when they dominate the entire arena with their influence zone
* Players can only place blocks inside their own influence zone
* Blocks will fall through if placed inside the opponent’s influence zone
[Technical Details]
* Built in Unity (LTS version preferred)
* Target platform: Windows PC
* Singleplayer only
* Developing the game from an isometric view
* Ensuring compatibility with mouse and keyboard input
* Use Unity’s built-in physics (Rigidbody, Colliders, etc.) for stacking and balance
* No need for code documentation – internal structure can be rough as long as it works
* Placeholder art is totally fine (basic shapes, simple colors)
[Graphics & Assets]
* Placeholder assets: cubes, planes, basic materials
* Minimal UI – nothing fancy
[Deliverables]
* Complete Unity project folder
* Optional: a compiled Windows build (.exe)
✅ Bonus
* If possible, structure scripts or components in a modular way (to support future expansions), but this is not required
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong experience in Unity
- Prior work on physics-based games
- Ability to create engaging, mechanics-focused prototypes
Please note, this prototype will serve as the foundation for a larger project, so the ability to deliver scalable and modifiable code will be highly regarded.
