Software Developer for Dysfunctional Breathing Treatment
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
An EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) funded project to deliver a digital health system for the clinical management of dysfunctional breathing which will use visual and auditory biofeedback to communicate the mechanics of breathing in real-time. This visualisation will be achieved by using a personalised avatar which accurately captures subtle skeletal movements (e.g. arm/shoulder/spine motions), rib motions associated with breathing and motion of the diaphragm. It will also show activation of muscles may interfere with a correct breathing pattern (e.g. abdominals, neck and shoulder muscles).
We require a software developer with the following skillsets:
1. Experience of C#. (Experience of C++ desirable)
2. Experience of using Unity to animate human avatars
3. Experience of streaming synchronised data from multiple (>2) depth cameras into Unity and/or other third-party software, e.g. MATLAB
4. Knowledge of how to apply computer vision techniques to achieve spatial synchronisation of data collected from multiple depth cameras
5. Knowledge of inverse kinematic techniques which can be used to obtain pose estimates from markers placed on body segments
