Medical Organ Sliding, a Software Application and 3D Animation Using the Unity Game Engine. -- 2

Job ID: 34740922

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

Overview:

The software application will consist of a 3D interface for capturing 2D images of sliced organs that have been dissected and the putting those slices together into a 3D model for medical analysis.

This would be similar to taking images of several slices of bread and then constructing a loaf of bread from those images.

Requirements:

The project will require the developer to create a software application using the Unity game engine. The developer must deliver all source code with documentation and comments to complete the project.

The software application will allow several 2D images of one side of each slice of an organ that has been dissected and then combine those slices into a 3D model of the entire organ. The user will be able to load images into the application, specify metadata about each slice, and the application will combine those images into a 3D representation allowing the user to:

Use a 2D user interface for metadata entry and loading of 2D images.

Look at the organ as a whole in 3D.

Combine the slices into the 3D organ showing a short animation of this process.

Explode the 3D organ into slices, showing a short animation of this process.

Look at each slice of the organ in 2D or 3D, individually or as a group of all slices in a specifically ordered/oriented grid.

Add additional images with higher detail and specify which slice and sub location of the slice that the detailed image originated.

Add metadata about each slice (e.g. slice number, orientation, thickness, notes). This metadata will be used by the application to dynamically create the 3D representation of the slice and organ. The metadata will also be shown when the user inspects an individual slice.

Spin, zoom, etc the 3D organ, to view the 3D representation of the organ from any angle and zoom level in real-time.

The developer must be available for Zoom conference calls with the owner to discuss the application during the development process.

This project is a prototype and may be ongoing during the product development cycle to follow.

So additional work may be offered to the developer.
