Looking for a 3D UNREAL ENGINE Simulation Gaming App Developer (iOS & Android) - Metaverse Creation
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
Project Overview
Game Title: Rewind – The Ultimate 90s & Early 2000s Nostalgia Experience
Platform: iOS & Android VR
Genre: Life Simulation, 3D, Social, Nostalgia (developed using Unreal Engine)
Target Audience:
Nostalgic millennials and Gen Z players (aged 18-40) who are passionate about early 2000s pop culture, gaming, and virtual reality. Players who remember the early days of the internet, VHS tapes, flip phones, and a world where TikTok and streaming services didn’t exist yet will be particularly drawn to this game.
Project Vision:
Rewind will be an immersive, social simulation game, allowing players to relive the early 2000s by designing characters, and homes, engaging in interactive mini-games, and experiencing a deeply nostalgic world. The game will feature accurate representations of the era’s culture, from fashion and entertainment to food, music, and technology, creating a world where players can explore childhood memories and cultural touchstones from the 90s and early 2000s.
Objective
We are in the process of financial development for the game Rewind, but we need a highly skilled app development team with experience in American culture from the early 2000s. This is crucial as the game’s success hinges on the authenticity of the cultural elements we want to capture. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on simulation-based games and a passion for 90s/early 2000s pop culture.
Requirements
Game Development Team Experience:
Must have experience in the development of simulation games for iOS & Android platforms.
Familiarity with Unreal Engine is preferred (though other engines such as RAGE, Frostbite, or IW 9.0 will be considered).
Must have a solid understanding of American culture, especially the 90s and early 2000s trends, technology, entertainment, and social media.
Details Matter:
This game is all about the tiny details. We’re capturing an era, and we want every aspect—from the sound of dial-up internet to the look of a 90s-style diner—to be immersive and nostalgic.
Attention to detail is a must: music, fashion, home decor, fast food chains, mall aesthetics, and even the types of cell phones used during the era.
An understanding of American cultural references such as MySpace, MTV’s Pimp My Ride, Toys R Us, Blockbuster, and 90s cartoons is essential.
Licensing Considerations:
Some licensing for music and branded environments (e.g., early 2000s fast food chains, MySpace aesthetics) will be necessary. The team will need to help with navigating licensing deals or developing creative workarounds to maintain the nostalgic atmosphere without direct branding.
Development Needs:
We are looking for an app development team that can take over the entire project, assisting in both short-term development and long-term support.
You will be expected to take the rough drafts of our Game Design Document (GDD) and Technical Design Document (TDD), which are currently in the early stages, and help us refine and update them to meet project goals.
Budget and Timeline:
We understand this is a big project, and the budget will reflect that. As we are still working on securing the full funding for this game, we need a detailed cost estimate to move forward. This includes an overall cost breakdown and any other financial considerations that should be addressed.
Please note that this project requires long-term commitment, as ongoing support and updates will be necessary as we develop new features and work with the game’s growing community.
Why Work With Us?
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking project that blends nostalgia with cutting-edge technology. We’re creating something that will resonate deeply with players and bring them into a world they remember fondly.
You will be collaborating with a dedicated team that’s passionate about the 2000s era and ready to execute this vision.
Please message me if interested!
Thank you!
