We are a tiny independent game studio working on our first game! Our game is a platformer metroidvania fantasy-medieval role-playing game about a pillow with powers on a quest to save the realm of dreams, and we’re out to make the best game we possibly can.

We’ve put a reasonable budget together and we’re now looking for an experienced Game Audio Designer (Contractor) to work with us. You’ll be working closely with our lead creator and creative director, along with the rest of the team to mix, edit, implement, and polish the audio for our game.

We might be small and self-supported, but we still insist on the highest standards of sound, game design, art, and deliberate game mechanics. We are looking for professional results and attention to detail.

What You’ll Be Doing with Us:

• Collaborate with the Lead Creative Director and other team members to establish an audio style for the game.
• Implement, mix, and modify sounds for creatures, ambience, music, buttons, interactable elements, and other elements in the game.
• Maintain, modify, and upgrade the existing online sound design chart (Google Doc) to reflect sounds implemented and indicate additional sounds necessary to the creative director.
• Ensure audio is of high quality and consistent on all device speakers and external headphones.
• Provide constructive and efficient feedback to the sound composer and creative director regarding sound implementation or modification/changes required with existing sounds or music.
• Maintain and update the sound library for the game in Unity.

Who We Want to Meet:

• Experience implementing sound in interactive games within Unity
• Knowledge and proficiencies in various DAW’s (Reaper, Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, etc.)
• Experience implementing and mixing audio with Unity’s audio systems
• Music composition and sound design skills
• Experience in using different audio hardware to record and mix
• Technical problem-solving skills when implementing audio or debugging problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
