Develop VR game for oculus guest 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I have a few projects that I would like to see come to fruition. I'll list them here as I think there's an opportunity for them to all be in a single experience, but I think they could also stand alone. I've seen too many games try to do "too much" and miss out on executing them well. I would probably err on the side of having a single game for each of these now, and try to leverage similar mega game experiences across them. I'll start with 2 of the projects. Would love to hear which one you think we should start with.
For each of these project these would be room based multi-player experiences with smooth physics for all players. They would all work on Quest 2, Oculus Rift S, and Steam, have built in voice chat, and random match making. Most would have some sort of meta data that would need to be stored on a backend service for past scores, collectables, etc.
1. Beer Pong - Several venues, syncable music from a source like youtube, several beer pong playing modes. The important mechanics to get right here are throwing ping pong balls and networked ball physics, recalling, avatars, accurate holding of the ball for physics, and scoring. I can provide a much more complete design. In this rendition it would be more like a playable MVP. We can discuss art style I would be OK with casual low poly style, and I have some assets from Synty Studios that could be leveraged.
2. Mini Golf - Inspired by Walkabout Minigolf, which me and my friends love to play. The important mechanics to get right is putting a golfball, adjustable putter (such that the length adjusts such that the putter's head never intersects with the ground, natural feel of putting, round robin playing order, score boarding, and reconnecting when connection was lost. This would be a playable MVP with a couple basic levels, but overall level design can probably be outsourced as I think this will get complicated. The important part are the mechanics.
I'm curious about your thoughts on projects like these. I'm happy to give you more details before we discuss a quote. What networking library would y
