Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbot for a Virtual Emotive Patient Avatar in Unity

We need someone with experience in AI software/programming to improve our virtual patient chatbot in Unity. The chatbot communicates through speech from the mobile app (coded with Unity). Currently, the chatbot is hard coded with premade text-to-speech voice-lines and only responds to certain questions. We are aiming to improve the realism of the chatbot with AI to resemble an actual patient in a hospital/clinic scenario for students to practice clinical skills.
