WordPress Discussion Board UI Enhancement

I have a live discussion board running on WordPress that works reliably but looks dated and clunky. My goal is to polish the user interface so the community experience feels modern, intuitive, and visually coherent across desktop and mobile.

Right now I am focused only on interface improvements—no new features or bug-hunting unless something surfaces during the redesign. I need someone comfortable tweaking WordPress themes, templates, and CSS (a child-theme approach is preferred to keep updates safe). Familiarity with common forum plugins such as bbPress or wpForo will help you move quickly, but the main job is front-end: cleaner typography, more readable post threads, and a streamlined navigation flow.
