South African Senior UI/UX Contractor
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I’m searching for a seasoned UI/UX professional who can slot straight into our 08:00-17:00 SAST sprint cadence and represent our company on daily stand-ups and stakeholder calls. You must already be based in South Africa so time-zone, culture and connection quality never become blockers.
What the day-to-day looks like
You’ll meet every morning with our product owners, absorb high-level requirements and turn them into detailed user flows, wireframes and polished visual designs. The team works in two-week sprints, and leadership relies heavily on your artefacts to make go/no-go decisions—so clarity, speed and confidence are vital.
Scope of work
• Map complex, multi-step user journeys for both mobile and desktop experiences
• Create high-fidelity screens in Figma that follow our evolving brand standards
• Deliver clickable prototypes for rapid validation and usability testing
• Hand off annotated design specs to developers; light front-end coding knowledge is a welcome plus
• Join daily calls, demo sessions and occasional client workshops on our behalf, acting as the face of our design discipline
Tooling & workflow
Figma is non-negotiable for design and collaboration (the rest of the team is there already). If you enjoy Sketch or Adobe XD that’s fine, but every final asset and prototype must live in our Figma workspace.
Success criteria
Final deliverables for each sprint are accepted when:
1. All agreed user flows are documented and signed off in Confluence.
2. Desktop and mobile screens meet our brand guidelines and pass internal review.
3. Interactive prototypes are share-ready for usability testing.
4. Developers confirm the hand-off contains complete specs, assets and interaction notes.
