AI-Powered 47mm Smartwatch Creation
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
Project Overview
We are developing a 47 mm round LTE AI smartwatch with on-device intelligence, voice interaction, gesture control, and health tracking. This is a real hardware product, not a concept app.
The watch runs on Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2 and features a round AMOLED display, physical inputs (crown + buttons), motion gestures, and local AI processing.
We are looking for an experienced UI Engineer to design and implement the on-device user interface that runs on the watch itself.
Hardware Context (for UI decisions)
Display: 1.4–1.5” round AMOLED, 60 Hz, touch-enabled
Inputs:
Touch
Rotating crown (with press)
3 physical push buttons
Gesture input (IMU-based: raise-to-wake, flick, twist, tap)
Audio: speaker + microphone (voice-first UX)
Connectivity: LTE + GNSS
Sensors: heart rate, SpO₂, motion (IMU)
Form factor: rugged 47 mm watch (Garmin-class)
Scope of Work
You will be responsible for designing and implementing the watch UI, not just mockups.
Core UI Responsibilities
Design and implement a round-display UI
Create navigation that works with:
touch
crown rotation/press
buttons
gestures
Build smooth, readable layouts optimized for:
small screens
glanceable information
low power usage
Required Screens / States
Watchface (including low-power / AOD considerations)
AI interaction states:
listening
thinking
speaking
Voice transcript / response display
Health dashboards (heart rate, SpO₂, activity)
Quick actions (torch, connectivity, battery)
Settings and system status screens
Technical Expectations
We are looking for engineering, not only visual design.
Preferred experience:
Embedded UI development
LVGL, Qt Embedded, or similar lightweight UI frameworks
C / C++ (or Rust) in embedded environments
Embedded Linux or RTOS-based systems
Performance optimization (60 Hz when active, low-power states otherwise)
Experience with round or wearable displays is a strong plus
Not required but a bonus:
Wearable or IoT device experience
Animation and micro-interaction tuning
Power-aware UI design
Deliverables
Running UI code on target hardware or reference environment
Clean, modular UI architecture
Basic documentation for screen flow and input handling
Visual polish appropriate for a premium smartwatch
Project Stage & Timeline
Hardware platform and sensors are already defined
PCB and enclosure design are in progress
UI work can begin in parallel
Expected timeline:
Initial usable UI in 4–6 weeks, with iteration afterward.
Engagement
Freelance / contract
Clear scope, paid milestones
Opportunity for ongoing collaboration as the product evolves
How to Apply
Please include:
Examples of embedded UI work
Any experience with LVGL / Qt Embedded / wearables
Screenshots or videos of UI running on real hardware (if available)
