UI/UX Designer – MudBlazor-First, Responsive Multi-Platform SaaS UI (Remote, AEST-Aligned)
Budget: $8 – $15 AUD
I’m building a business-management SaaS platform using Blazor with MudBlazor as the component foundation, and I’m looking for a UI/UX designer to shape the entire user experience before front-end implementation begins.
The same design language must feel natural:
• In a browser
• Inside a desktop shell (e.g. .NET MAUI)
• On mobile screens
Responsive, multi-platform thinking is required from the first wireframe onward.
This is not a Figma-only role.
Every design must be implementable in MudBlazor using Blazor-friendly CSS and design tokens.
What you’ll do
• Translate existing user flows and rough sketches into:
○ High-fidelity mockups
○ Clickable prototypes
• Design core system-defining screens, including:
○ A data-rich analytics dashboard (charts, tables, KPIs)
○ A flexible user profile area
• Use these screens to establish:
○ Layout patterns
○ Navigation behaviour
○ Modals, dialogs, and settings conventions
• Design responsive layouts for:
○ Web (desktop)
○ Tablet
○ Mobile (down to ~360px)
• Apply CSS and theming to extend MudBlazor:
○ Typography
○ Spacing
○ Density
○ Visual hierarchy
• Ensure designs:
○ Map cleanly to MudBlazor components
○ Avoid custom UI elements that fight the framework
• Collaborate closely with developers and provide regular written status updates during AEST hours
Deliverables
• Low- and high-fidelity designs for Web, Desktop, and Mobile breakpoints
• A reusable design system aligned to:
○ MudBlazor variables
○ Typography and spacing rules
• Handoff package including:
○ Component mappings
○ Color palette
○ Interaction notes
○ Responsive behaviour guidance
Acceptance criteria (examples)
• No layout shifts at desktop, tablet, or mobile breakpoints
• Dashboard charts, tables, and KPIs remain readable at 360px width
• All core profile actions (edit details, password reset, avatar upload) complete in ≤ 3 interactions
Required experience (must have)
• Proven UI/UX design experience for responsive SaaS applications
• Strong CSS skills, especially in component-based systems
• Hands-on experience working with Blazor
• Strong familiarity with MudBlazor (or real Blazor + MudBlazor projects)
• Experience designing within an existing component library
• Ability to explain design trade-offs clearly
• Availability overlapping AEST hours
Nice to have
• Experience exporting design tokens from Figma / XD / Sketch
• Familiarity with Material Design 2.0
• Experience designing data-heavy dashboards
• Light Blazor / Razor component awareness
Compensation
• AUD $8 – $15 per hour
• Open to per-screen or milestone pricing
Short design validation task (unpaid, shortlisted only)
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a small, time-boxed design task.
Not production work. Not used commercially. ≤ 2 hours.
Example:
• Design one responsive dashboard screen using MudBlazor
• Show desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts
• Map key elements to MudBlazor components
• Include brief CSS/theming notes
How to apply
To confirm you’ve read this:
• Start your proposal with: MudBlazor + CSS
• Share relevant work
• Briefly explain how you design for responsive, multi-platform UI using component libraries
If you enjoy defining product-level UX that developers can implement with minimal friction, this role is for you.
