UI/UX Designer (FIGMA) – EV Charger Interface + Infographics Designer Needed
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
UI/UX Designer (FIGMA) – EV Charger Interface + Infographics
Project Overview
We are developing a public DC EV charger and are seeking an experienced UI/UX designer to design the on-screen user interface in FIGMA, based on an existing company style guide.
The core user journey and screen flow have already been storyboarded and will be provided as a starting point. The focus of this project is refinement, usability, clarity, and robustness, not conceptual exploration from scratch.
This interface must work reliably in a real-world outdoor environment and accommodate both touch-adjacent interaction and physical button input.
⸻
Key Requirements
• Design the EV charger HMI in FIGMA
• Work within an existing brand/style guide
• Translate provided storyboards into a polished, production-ready UI
• Design for a 43” vertical display
• Interface must support 4 physical side buttons (bottom orientated) aligned with non-touch screen actions
• Clear hierarchy, legibility at distance, and high-contrast layouts suitable for outdoor use
• Create simple infographics explaining how to use the EV charger (plug in, authorise, charge, finish)
• Screens must accommodate advertising content alongside user interaction flows
⸻
Scope of Work
• Main user flow screens (idle, pre-authorisation, connection, charging, completion, error states)
• Button-mapped UI states (visual cues aligned with physical buttons)
• Infographic illustrations for first-time users
• Responsive layout logic within a fixed 43” format
• FIGMA file structured for handover to engineering
⸻
Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
• Experience with EV chargers, kiosks, industrial HMIs, or public infrastructure
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design
• Experience designing for non-touch interfaces or hybrid button-screen systems
• Familiarity with designing for sunlight readability and outdoor environments
⸻
Deliverables
• Fully structured FIGMA design file
• Component-based layout suitable for iteration
• Infographic assets embedded or linked
• Clear button-to-screen interaction mapping
⸻
What We Will Provide
• Company style guide
• Existing storyboard and screen flow
• Screen dimensions and physical button placement details
• Ongoing feedback and clarification during the project
⸻
To Apply, Please Include
• Portfolio examples of UI/UX or HMI work
• FIGMA-based projects you’ve completed
• Brief explanation of your approach to clarity and usability in public interfaces
⸻
Project Type
• Fixed-price or hourly (open to recommendation)
• Potential for follow-on work as the product evolves
