Design and Development of a Social Media App for Airplane Photography

Description:
We are looking for a UI/UX designer, an app developer, or ideally someone who can handle both design and development for our new mobile app.
The app is a social media platform where users can capture and share airplane photos. The concept combines the aesthetics of an art museum exhibition with airport-inspired typography. The design should feel minimal, clean, and globally usable with minimal text.
Core Features (MVP scope):
- Login / Sign up
- Home feed: gallery-style, showing posts related to airplanes near the user’s location
- Following feed: swipe horizontally to see posts from followed users
- Post detail: airplane photo + flight number, departure, destination, likes/comments
- Camera / Upload: auto-fill nearest flight number, departure, and destination when capturing inside the app; draft save when offline; auto-fill flight info later via GPS + timestamp for imported photos
- User profile: view own posts, view others’ posts, follow users
- Flight search: search photos by flight number
- Notifications: when someone posts to a flight you already posted
Deliverables:
- For UI designers: Figma (preferred) or other format with final screen designs, reusable components, style guide, interactive prototype
- For Developers: Working iOS and Android MVP (Flutter preferred, or Swift/SwiftUI for iOS), source code, basic documentation (setup, build, Firebase/API integration)
- For Full-stack designer-developers: both of the above
Technical Requirements:
- Flutter (preferred) or iOS (Swift/SwiftUI)
- Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Notifications)
- Flight data API integration (OpenSky Network initially, expandable to ADS-B Exchange / aviationstack)
What We Expect in Your Proposal:
- Your relevant portfolio or past projects
- Confirmation if you can provide UI only, Development only, or Both
- Your estimate including cost and timeline
- Experience preparing design assets for Flutter/iOS (if applying as a designer)
We already prepared detailed requirements and a Pinterest moodboard showing the desired visual style. We will share these materials with selected candidates.
