Delphi UI/UX Modernization Expert
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I have a mature Windows desktop application written in Delphi (VCL) that runs flawlessly on the business-logic side, but the interface looks dated and the navigation has grown complex over the years. My immediate goal is to bring the entire look and feel up to a modern standard while keeping every existing feature intact.
You will dive into the current VCL forms, refactor layouts, update typography, streamline menus, and simplify workflows. Expect to focus first on untangling the navigation structure, then carry the new visual language consistently across dialogs, pop-ups, and secondary screens. All code changes must preserve 100 % of today’s functionality; back-end calls and data handling are off-limits.
Key tools you’re already comfortable with—Delphi IDE, VCL styles, and any supplementary UI/UX prototyping software—should come into play naturally as you iterate. Because this is an active production system, I’ll review changes in incremental builds and roll them out to users in stages, so clear versioning and clean, well-commented code are essential.
Deliverables (per milestone)
• Reworked VCL form(s) with compiled binaries and source
• Before/after screenshots highlighting UI improvements
• Brief change log explaining design decisions and confirming untouched business logic
Acceptance criteria
1. The refreshed screen compiles and functions identically feature-wise.
2. Navigation steps are reduced or clarified compared with the original.
3. Visual style aligns with contemporary Windows guidelines and the agreed mock-ups.
There is continuous follow-on work for additional modules once the first set ships smoothly. If you have a portfolio of desktop UI overhauls—especially large legacy projects—let’s modernize this application together.
