Cross Platform Desktop Usability Redesign
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Our desktop application runs on macOS and Windows in equal measure, and while its features are robust, new users struggle to find their way around. My single, clear objective is to improve overall usability with a special focus on smoother, faster navigation from first launch through advanced tasks.
Here is how I see the collaboration unfolding:
• First, you will audit the current UI, map every key workflow, and call out friction points that slow users down.
• Next, we will agree on an updated information architecture and low-fidelity wireframes that place common actions no more than two clicks away.
• This will grow into an interactive prototype of the full app—Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD are all fine—rendered separately for macOS and Windows so that native behaviours and controls feel right on both platforms.
• Finally, you will deliver high-fidelity mock-ups and a short rationale document explaining each navigation decision so the development team can implement with confidence.
Acceptance will be based on hallway-test results: an 80 percent task-completion rate and a measurable drop in click depth compared with today’s build.
Please include desktop-focused portfolio pieces, noting any work that followed Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines or Microsoft Fluent. A concise overview of your design process and typical timeline will help me gauge fit. I am ready to start as soon as we find the right match.
